Setup ALB Controller#
Following this to install the aws alb controller.
First, create a IAM policy.
AWSLoadBalancerControllerIAMPolicy.json

Second, create an IAM role and a service account.
eksctl create iamserviceaccount \--cluster=eks-stack-eks-cluster \--namespace=kube-system \--name=aws-load-balancer-controller \--attach-policy-arn=arn:aws:iam::891740084905:policy/AWSLoadBalancerControllerIAMPolicy \--override-existing-serviceaccounts \--region us-west-2 \--approve
Third, add the helm chart.
helm repo add eks https://aws.github.io/eks-charts
Then install the controller using the above created service account.
helm install aws-load-balancer-controller eks/aws-load-balancer-controller \-n kube-system \--set clusterName=eks-stack-eks-cluster \--set serviceAccount.create=false \--set serviceAccount.name=aws-load-balancer-controller
Alternatively, install the controller without the IRSA. In this case, we do not need to create the service account above.
helm install aws-load-balancer-controller eks/aws-load-balancer-controller \-n kube-system \--set clusterName=eks-stack-eks-cluster
Let's describe the controller and service account.
kubectl describe sa aws-load-balancer-controller -n kube-system
Ingress Example#
In this example, by using the aws alb controller ingress, we can server multiple services using the same alb. First, let's create a simple service and ingress. For more details on the ingress annotation, please check here
